For less than $200, its time to start road racing. If you are ready to start biking, this bike is for you if you don't have $1000 for a low end entry bike from a local bike shop. The GMC Denali 700C 21-Speed Road Bike is built around a lightweight (29 pounds) aluminum road bike frame for racing or commuting. You'll stop on a dime with the alloy calipers and brake levers, and the high-profile alloy Vitesse racing rims look as good as they perform. The Shimano derailleur and Shimano Revo shifts make it easy to change gears quickly and smoothly, and the high-performance 700c tires are up to the challenge of rigorous street racing. Lastly, this road bike will help you stay hydrated with the included alloy water bottle cage. @seansymons I have this bike I thought it was a freakin Kent bike?? but it’s amazing!! I Have this bike and it’s fucking fast I’ve never owned a road bike and for a beginner I’ve been able to go 30mph! it’s great plus I was just hit by a car recently and it survived! the only thing that happened was the front wheel is shot to hell but the tube and tire stayed air up it was amazing!

I bought this bike a few weeks ago. I see a lot of people bashing it, but it’s obvious that the people who would be interested in this bike are not ready to spend thousands on a nicer one. I compared this to my father’s trek (a $1500 bike, professionally serviced and adjusted) and while there was a clear quality difference, we both agree it wasn’t 10 times the difference. It’s definitely worth what you pay for it as an entry into road biking to see if you’d actually enjoy it.

If you’re finding bikes in the $7000 to $8000 dollar range, you’re getting ripped off. My bike is the 2011 Giant TCR Advanced 1, through connections with Giant Corporation, I got it for $2700 — 1 year before it went on the market.

I was looking at this bike for a while, but chose a different one. If you are reading reviews and comments on this bike take them with a grain of salt. Remember pick the bike suited for the type of riding you are going to do. Casual, commuter, fitness vs. enduranc, race. Besides I saw pictures of the AIDS/LifeCycle and there were a few Denali’s that made the 500+ trip from SF to LA. If this bike was truely that bad, i don’t think they would last a trip like ALC

i’ve ridden that bike and have ridden bike store bikes. That bike is great for someone just riding around the neighborhood. the drive train is not stiff enough to keep up with someone of the same fitness on a bike store bike. the crank is really flexy and so is the wheelset. for the price it’s a good bike but if I ever got one i would not get in my cycling suit to ride it since 1 i would feel like an ass (and a poser) and 2 why get aerodynamic, flex is the speed killer on that bike.

I have been biking for about 7 years now and I have been upgrading the type of bike I use every two or three years. Right now I have a Schwinn Hybrid that I have probably put a few thousand miles on. The downside is that it weighs 48Lbs! So I was looking to buy a road bike and this one interested me; 28Lbs less! Now, professional bikers say that’s heavy but damn, 48Lbs didn’t seem very heavy so I would assume this will be like a feather.

Hey, do you think this would fit a guy 5’6″? I ride about 25 miles everyday and I need a a decent bike that fits well.

dude 7-8 thousand?! lmao, you can build a 15lb bike for less easily. Not even worth buying a 28lb bike no matter the price, GM building more rediculous crap. Just stop, seriously GM, give up…. it’s like nam… you lost, just move on.

29lbs is stupidly heavy for a road bike.

I built my dirt jumping/downhill bike for only $500. I put it together with the help of some friends. It’s awesome.
